You won’t find this in a 7-11 in Detroit. This is a self-serve oden unit at a 7-11 near my place. Many convenience stores have oden during the winter. It’s a kind of soup. With stuff. Good warm winter fare.

Oden is edible?

Given an appropriate number of Hi-Liki brand chu-hai to wash it down with, yeah. Hi-Liki even makes edible those fried-chicken globs-behind-glass things they keep next to the register (and next to the niku-man).
I love oden, especially the daikon. Also the soft white thing is good, but I’m not really sure what it is….
Mmmm, oden. We get those disgusting hot dogs and “sausages” at 7-11 here and the 7-11’s in the DC area dropped cafe coolers, so I no longer have a reason to go.
yes daikon! ^-^ I just made a big nabe of oden at home today - addicted to it! I dont know what to do if i ever move back to the states. Ocha / oden / takoyaki / the list goes on! I would miss it. 7-11 here vs 7-11 “there” hmmm i choose here!
