Day Trip from Tokyo: Zushi and Hayama

ZushiMarina1.jpg
Last Sunday we went for a drive outside Tokyo, to Zushi and Hayama in Kanegawa-ken. I was surprised to find such beautiful scenery just an hour from the city. We went to Zushi Marina, which doesn’t look like Japan at all (see above) and to Hayama, where a previous residence of the Japanese Royal Family is located.
I would recommend a visit to the Hotel OtowaNoMori, Hayama to sip a glass of Champagne and watch the sun set over the ocean:

Woo hoo! Used to be our neck of the woods. We lived past Hayama, past Zushi, in Kamakura, near the the water and very close to Enoshima. We used to go to Fujisawa for shopping and made trips to Ofuna as well. Kamakura was definitely a great experience - my brother lives there now with his family.

Darn do I miss Japan and the more I read metblogs Tokyo, the worse it gets…

Yeah a very nice area; will definitely be back. I haven’t been to Kamakura yet, but I’ve heard very nice things about there too.

Go you must to Kamakura (how’s that for a Yodaesque response??). Make sure you see Hachimangu, Zeniarai-benten, as well as the Daibutsu and Enoshima!
