SAKUMA Gen photo exhibit at Place M in Shinjuku
Last night, on my way to the Tokyo International Players performance of Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard” (by the way — more shows at 2:00 and 7:30 today, January 28, and one show tomorrow at 2:00), I stopped off at Photo Gallery PLACE M in Shinjuku 1-Chome to see an exhibit of photographs by SAKUMA Gen, titled 「そこへゆけ」or “Go there”,
PLACE M is a small gallery/workshop, run by a group of photographers, that’s just a two-minute walk from the Marunouchi Shinjuku Gyoenmae station. It’s well worth heading over there to see the exhibit. But go now, because the exhibit ends tomorrow (January 29). For directions, including a QR code you can use to grab a map and directions for carrying/viewing on your mobile phone, see the TAB page for Place M.
As far as what to expect, a print of the photo at the left/beginning of this item is on display, as are prints of the ones below. Images of many (maybe all?) of the photos are also available online at Sakuma’s website.
