Sunday is a big day for Tokyo. It’s the first big open Marathon that has been held here and is part of the build-up to 2016 Olympic bid, which will be submitted to the IOC next year.
It’s a big day for me too; my first marathon. Look out for number 22650; I’m aiming for 4h15.
There will be loads of events going on across Tokyo to mark the day. Check out the official website for more details.

Check back on Sunday for live updates from me during the run!

Gambarimashoo James, I am running too. It should be great event, apart from the weather….can you believe after weeks of fine dry weather it is forecast to tip it down tomorrow! Good luck, you can do it!

    Cheers fellow GB Runner!
I’m still crossing my fingers the rain will finish by 9am. Enjoy the run!

Oh dear, the rain didn’t stop but I hope you still had a good run? I really enjoyed it, great course, excellent support, may consider again next year….!!

That was some downpour! The first 30k went well, but it got pretty tough after that.
    Anyway, I made it round.
I was thinking about entering again as well. The crowds were great, especially considering the rain and we made friends with a few runners en route, which was fun.
I’m still hurting now, but really glad I did it. See you next year!
