James.
Yes, I heard my friends talking about grey sky in UK, and they usually dislike it.. But, you told me about one interesting fact that UK has more open-top cars per capita in Europe. Nice to know, but lots more to study on this..

We always talk about the weather in England; I guess we're known for it. It's usually a depressing topic as the weather is pretty awful.
However, when there is a nice day, boy do we make the most of it! Suddenly everyone has a convertible car, any green space is covered in people sunbathing and the day ends with everyone sunburnt & drinking outside the pub.
Despite our incessant rain, the UK has more open-top cars per capita than the rest of Europe - figure that one out...

Hello, Marin.

Yes, I agree. It seems the peak was mid-night.
Hope it will be clearing this weekend.

By the way, the weather topic in daily converations are definitely prevalent in Japan. In Ozu's movies, characters were talking about weather a lot. Well, Ozu's movies are probably too old to take it as an example, but I do think this weather conscious verbal culture is somewhat noteworthy to think about.

Thanks for this story, you are a good writer! And I like your photos too.

I wonder if Friday will have better weather. Seems the peak of the storm was around 3AM on Friday morning. Now at 7:40 there is not much wind, and just some rains. But... It could get worse again I suppose.
