LOHAS
“LOHAS(Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability)” is seen in many places these days.
But do you know this well? What is it ?
I came across “LOHAS Design Awards 2006″ in June at Marunouchi Building , and got this bag for free. It looks like a plastic bag from supermarkets, but actually not plastic.
They offered various stamps there and said “Make your own bag with stamps”, and this became my only one bag.
But when do I use this ? I already have another shopping bag…
Maybe is it better to give it to my mum or someone ? :)
Thunder!
Did you hear the roar of thunder this afternoon?
Check rain fall and thunder data here.
It looks a bit scary, I better turn my computer off now?
It looks like
Apparently, typhoon 7 is coming to Kanto area…
Here is a link to Japan Meteorological Agency’s Tropical Cyclone Information.
Typhoon 7, her name is Maria. Every typhoon has its number and name. Interesting.
Heat.
I’m Melting.
To hell with LOHAS, give me my A/C. It was 31 degrees celsius indoors with the A/C full blast at work. I have no idea what the humidity was for yesterday, but I am going to go out on a limb and say, “High.” There is lots of good advice on staying cool and avoiding heat related illnesses and cessation of all bodily functions. Needless to say, I will not be following much of it today.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages, coffee and cola: Wine. Lots and lots of wine was consumed last night. Coco says, “tell everyone hangover is bad and it ruins your sunday.” Public Service Announcement: Hang overs suck and mess up your Sundays.
- Avoid going out in the blazing sun or heat when possible: Going out after I am done with this post.
- Wear a hat: Don’t own a hat.
- Avoid intense or moderately intense physical activity: Cycling to Tachikawa.
- Plan to go out early in the morning or evening when it is cooler and smog levels may not be as high as in the afternoon: 14:00 is probably not a good time to be cycling around.
Wish me luck. More advice from this random Canadian site.

Summer. Hot or Cool ?
At last. Yes.
Today’s maximum temperature in Gunma prefecture was 38.6 degrees celsius !
As Nightsea_Ageha mentioned about Hyperthermia, this is very dangerous, especially for children and older people.
However, as a office worker, I have another problem. Most of male colleagues tend to keep office cool, then sometimes they set airconditioning to 22 degrees or lower ! And that is too cold for female colleagues. We always complain about office temperature and wear cardigans in the summer. Ridiculous.
Peach lovers…wait, wait for a while
I like peach, especially peach from Fukushima pref. and Yamanashi Pref. in this season, are very tasty.
Today, I came across to a small fruits shop, actually not a shop, just a man who was selling fruits in front of a department store. And there were Fukushima’s and Yamanashi’s peach. They caught my eyes, looked so pretty, 4 or 5 peach in a box for 800 Yen.
Suddenly, the man started to speak to me,
“Due to the shortage of sunlight, they looks sweet but not so tasty, so do not buy now, it’s better to wait for a week.”
What a kind guy…his job is to sell fruits, but the reason that they are not so tasty, he stopped me to buy it.
I thanked him and left there, can’t wait for next week.
Hot Hot Hot and Humid
I woke up earlier this morning, too hot to sleep…
Where is rainy season ? Has it finished ?
今朝は暑くて目が覚めた。
梅雨はどこにいっちゃったの? もう終わったのかな?
